Who was Ralph De Gael?
Ralph de Gael was one of the leaders of the Earls' Revolt in 1075. He was the son of an Anglo-Norman father, who served Edward the Confessor, and a mother from Brittany. He succeeded his father as Earl of East Anglia around 1069. He married Roger de Breteuil's sister.
